Our Core Values
You are created for a personal relationship with God. Sin separates each of us from God, but through Jesus, we are reconciled with God. This means that you get to relate with God as Father, friend, counselor, and in so many other ways. It all begins with knowing God.
You can experience true freedom that only comes through Jesus! All too often our past sins, struggles, disappointments, and failures hold us back in bondage. You can be free, and we want to help you find freedom through Jesus.
God never intended you to follow Jesus alone, so join a group and link arms with others; let’s journey together as we follow Jesus. In addition to being part of a group, join a Serve Team and partner with us as we show and share the love of Jesus with Greater Portland.
When you encounter Jesus, the natural response is to share him with others. You share with your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, and the people you interact with in your everyday life. Jesus changes your life, so share your story with others.
What We Believe About...
We believe in one loving God, the Almighty Father, who is the creator of all things. God is sovereign, He is all knowing and He is love. We believe God exists as three distinct persons. God the Father, Jesus the Son, and The Holy Spirit. We believe all three have always been, since before the creation of the world.
Genesis 1, Romans 11:33-36, John 1:1-4, Romans 8:5-17
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, who has existed with the Father from the very beginning. For our salvation He came down from heaven: and by the power of the Holy Spirit He became fully human, being born of the virgin, Mary. For our sake Jesus was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried, and on the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will never end. Jesus was tempted as we are tempted but never sinned.
Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 1:26-38, Philippians 2:5-11, Matthew 4:1-11, Luke 22-24
We believe the Holy Spirit is the person of God given by God to live within us. He is our lead helper, our comforter and the one who guides us to the truth of God. He empowers us with specific gifts to accomplish the ministry God has prepared for us to do. He convicts the world of sin and leads us in our mission to make disciples.
Acts 2:38-39, John 14:26, John 15:26, Galatians 5:16-18, Galatians 5:22-23, I Corinthians 12,13,14:1-25, John 16:13-15
God has spoken through men who wrote the Scriptures, moved by the Spirit of God, and we believe these Scriptures to be true and trustworthy. We believe the Bible is without error. We believe the Bible is the truth by which all other truth is measured.
We believe in one Church that is filled with all of the faithful followers of Jesus. The church is not a place, rather it is the people of Jesus wherever we are. Our purpose is to glorify God and make disciples who share Jesus with others.
We acknowledge one baptism and repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
We believe Jesus is the only one who can save us from sin, death and Hell. Salvation is a gift, we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus alone. There is nothing we can do to earn a place in the family of God, or be ‘good enough’, Jesus died to pay the penalty of our sin.
We eagerly await the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. We believe God will send Jesus to judge the living and the dead. Those who are saved through Christ Jesus will not be condemned and will experience eternal life in the new Heaven and New Earth. Those who reject Jesus will be separated from God because of their sin and dwell in a place of conscious punishment called Hell.
John 5:24, Romans 6:23, Matthew 25:46, John 14:2-3, Jude 1:7, Matthew 10:28, Revelation 20 & 21
